Model A Blocks
Model A divides the psyche into four distinct "Blocks", each containing two functions. These blocks determine how we process information—what we value, what we are good at, and where we need help.
Ego Block
The Ego block is the core of the personality. It contains the strongest and most valued functions. These are the functions we are most confident in using and which we use to creatively interact with the world. We identify with this block; it is 'who we are'.
Super-Ego Block
The Super-Ego block is the area of social conformance and 'musts'. It contains weak functions that are necessary for social survival but are not valued by the individual. We feel pressure to perform here but lack the energy and confidence to do so effectively.
Super-Id Block
The Super-Id block is the area of our needs and aspirations. It contains weak functions that we nevertheless desire to receive from others. We are not confident producing this information ourselves and seek support and suggestibility in these areas.
Id Block
The Id block is the side of unvalued strength. It contains strong functions that operate in the background to ensure our physical survival and satisfy basic needs. We are very capable here but find this information boring and tedious.
